Big mountain. Small board. Or at least that is the theory behind the Root snowboard from Burton. Using a technology called Nug Raduction, Burton has downsized and upgraded to allow the rider to use a board that is up to 10 cm shorter than usual. Shorter means more control, and faster speed.

The Root is a hybrid rocker style with a Flat Top profile, which consists of a flat surface between the feet that curves upward at both the nose and tail. Burton has also incorporated the Squeezebox into the profile for more cushioned and controlled takeoffs and landings, and Side Effects just help you sail through the deep snow.

With all its snowboards, Burton starts with a lightweight inner wood core and adds responsive Triax fiberglass. The special Channel mounting system allows for a wide range of stance options, while Infinite Ride ensures long lasting performance and durability. These are the very basics in quality Burton snowboards, and the company just builds from there, enhancing each board to suit the needs and skills of its rider.

Burton has created the Root from good old-fashioned ingenuity, and the result is a board that is as fun on the parks and rails as it is on the snow-covered peaks.
