THE BARE ESSENTIALS
Much like any other event, you’ll need a ticket to get in. Once you’ve got your ticket(s) everything else can start to fall into place. Don’t you love it when a plan comes together?
Below is a link to said tickets where you can begin your Blues Fest experience.
July 4 - 7, 2019 - COMING SOON
The waterfront Blues Festival is no doubt a happening event so make sure you have your transportation squared away.
Apps like Lyft are certainly available (Blues Fest fans can get $5 off two rides when using the code BLUES10) and so are the TriMet Max and bus lines. Help us cut down on congestion by taking any one of these options. The added bonus being that you can drink and return home safely and responsibly! Party on, Wayne!
BRUSH UP ON YOUR BLUES
The blues have been around since the dawn of time, but the musical expression took hold in the deep south around the turn of the 20th century and hasn’t lost any momentum. From Son House to Buddy Guy and 2018’s headliner, George Thorogood, there’s no shortage of blues to keep you tapping your feet.
FESTIVAL TIPS AND TRICKS
It’s no mystery that it gets hot in July so make sure that you drink plenty of water! This should be a “duh” moment but when you throw beer into the mix you can lose sight of that rather quickly especially when you’re having fun. We recommend drinking one glass of water per every one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer... and then drink some more.
SUNSCREEN AND SHADE
When living in a lush green valley shade is a luxury; unfortunately festivals need an open floor plan to enhance visibility which means shade becomes a commodity... and sunscreen a necessity. After you’ve staked your claim and set up camp in the lawn, find some shade and apply sunscreen liberally. You can get digital with it and set an alarm on your phone that coincides with the spf rating of your sunscreen.
