About Alchemy Goods
Alchemy Goods got started when their founder got his messenger bag stolen. He
needed another one, but the perfect bag was nowhere to be found. When he noticed
that there was a bunch of extra bike inner tubes just lying around his apartment,
the idea struck him that he could create a bag out of things that he already had.
Using a home sewing machine, he crafted the first model and while it wasn’t
perfect, it was precisely what he needed. Soon, all his friends wanted one for
themselves and each bag he made was even better than the last. While getting his
messenger bag stolen may have been a bummer at the time, it turned out to be the
best thing that could have ever happened to him.
Based in Seattle, WA, Alchemy Goods puts a little number in the corner of each
of their stitched logos that appears on all their products. That number represents
the upcycled material percentage that is in that piece. They strive to get that
number as high as they can and they are constantly innovating and looking for
new ways to incorporate upcycled materials into each and every product. In their
efforts to keep driving that number upwards, they have partnered with bike shops
all over Seattle to collect and repurpose bike inner tubes. They have reclaimed
over 300,000 tubes so far and they aren’t looking to slow down any time
soon.
Alchemy Goods camping accessories, like their Zipper Pulls, are a practical and
