About Signal Snowboards
Signal Snowboards was founded in 2004 by artists and snowboarders who wanted
to create a company that could help build a community. The brand’s founders
outlined qualities they did not like in the snowboarding industry and aimed
to create a new type of brand. Signal
Snowboards now produces top-quality boards and connects with its
fans in unique ways.
For example, Signal produces Every Third Thursday, a web show. During the show,
Signal’s expert designers give fans a peek at their creative process.
The creators sit down once per month and film themselves coming up with a new
board idea. Some of the boards do not end up being produced, but the designers
find the creative process useful and helpful for connecting with fans.
also connects with its customers by producing another top-quality product that
many snowboarders love: coffee. Since so many boarders start their mornings
off with coffee, Signal decided to roast it’s own gourmet coffee beans.
The coffee helps the brand connect even more with its customers’ lifestyles.
It also shows the designers’ commitment to excellence, because they put
time and knowledge into perfecting each roast.
Of course, Signal is most known for its outstanding snowboards. The Signal
Flat Park is the perfect durable and flexible board for just about
any terrain. It has a standard thickness underneath the standing area, and is
slightly thinner and more flexible at the nose and tail. Carbon stringers provide
extra strength, as does the alternating grain structure.
Signal OG boards are the brand’s original design. They are lightweight
freestyle boards with triaxial glass on the bottom and top of the core. OG boards
have a directional shape, meaning that they have longer noses than tails. This
design feature helps keep the nose above the powder and makes it easier to hold
your edge strongly. Each board top is hand painted, so they are all unique.
Omni Wavelength Snowboard also has a directional shape. However,
its tail and nose widths are identical. It has a standard profile and a biaxial
glass top and bottom. The board has a poplar core and a Durasurf sintered base
material. The Omni Wavelength Snowboard is great for mountain riders.
Another expertly designed Signal board is the Signal
Rocker Snowboard. This board is totally level through the bindings,
creating continuous contact and allowing you to hold an edge. It has a poplar
core with a standard profile and a nylon 8210 top to allow flexibility. This
board’s rocker starts at your feet, so the nose and tail are in the air
without extra tapering. To provide more variety, Signal also created a smaller
and lighter version of the Rocker, called the Rocker Light Snowboard.
If you appreciate a company that takes an interest in its community and customers,
Signal might be the brand for you. It doesn’t hurt that they also produce
some expertly designed boards for riders with a variety of different needs and
