Rome snowboards came to life in Waterbury, Vermont in November 2001. Three friends
came together while living in the backwoods of Vermont and working for a well-known
snowboard manufacturing. They were tired of seeing average boards getting marketed
and pushed out. Rome came into being because it was time to create a superior
snowboard that sold itself. From that time, the products grew from boards to boots,
bindings and outerwear. Rome has it all. These products grew in popularity as
its namesake did in terms of foresight and artistic creation.
The superiority of product surfaced from the technology that Rome employs in their
large selection of boards. Snowboarding is about riding a mountain under the vastness
of differing snow conditions. The Hotrods, milled into the core of the board right
under the bindings and out toward the nose, provide a quick snappy turn for a
fast response. The Quickrip side cut plays with geometry ensuring that stability
is guaranteed at higher speeds and a short playful feel at slower speeds. In the
upper end boards, Rome uses basalt impact plates that can take whatever is thrown
at it in terms of the big jumps and heavy drops.
Rome has different snowboards for different needs. There are five core configurations
that are created to cater to the different styles of riding. The Airpop Core Matrix
is on the heavier side though still light to carry. It does provide a lovely transition
and quick response to your turning. The Superpop Core Matrix has three zones of
low-density wood for a lighter transition of flex; whereas, the Pop Core Matrix
has low density wood in two zones with a flexible and yet stable core. For those
tough days of jumps the Impact Core Matrix adds the durability to core that is
required. If the classic ride is what you are looking for the TTT Core Matrix
provides that continuous flex from nose to tail. It is all a matter of matching
the right board with your style of riding. Rome offers a custom fit for your snowboarding
The women’s Rome snowboards reflect the appreciation of gender differences.
The five different core technologies apply as well the various laminates and base
compounds that are available in men’s boards. The size and colors reflect
that appreciation of feminine energy floating effortlessly in bottomless powder
and cruising through the trees or slashing up the walls of the terrain park.
Rome equips you with the compatible solution that keeps you going all day with
board, binding and boots. The extras are also available with efficient base layers,
fashionable hoodies, great gloves and comfy hats. Going back to the woods of Vermont
combined with over a decade of being in the riding marketplace, Rome knows what
it is to have the heart of a mountain warrior or the heart of a mountain dancer.
It is this knowledge and experience that you can trust when it is time to kit
up and get outside to play.
