Not as light and packable as I thought it would be

"I bought this Patagonia jacket for running as an emergency shell. I wanted something really light that could pack down and fit into a pocket on my running shorts. After doing some research I settled on the Houdini jacket for its good reviews and advertised pack-ability. Unfortunately, this jacket seems to be the older model which doesn't pack as small as the latest version shown on Patagonia's website. While it does fit into the stretch mesh pocket on my shorts, the total package is bulkier than I would like and it is not as light as my Brooks Nitelife wind shirt. However, it satisfies certain features I was looking for that my Brooks shirt doesn't have: hood, full zip, something not as hi-vis which I could wear in non running situations. All in all not a bad jacket, but if I could go back, I'd probably shop around more in person so I can get exactly what I'm looking for."

"This jacket is perfect to stash in the bottom of your climbing pack incase some bad weather moves in. Compresses up super small and is very light weight. I wouldn't count on this as a main jacket for the elements but something you would carry on a nice day in the mountains just in case bad weather moved in. "
