  Excellent Adventure Travel Pant

REVIEWED BY: GREYTOURIST    2013-07-28

"The Ferrosi pants have been around for a while. They're a very popular O.R. product and I can see why. I bought these as an adventure travel pant that could handle an English misty hike and still not get too hot for India or Thailand in the cool season, while offering a bit of style for the urban parts of my journey, something that the superlightweight travel pants can't do. So far, these pants deliver. Their style owes a lot to climbing pants, so the front pockets are drop-in style, and the cargo pocket opens vertically into a pocket that runs front-to-back on the leg. This keeps stuff in your pockets when you're not standing upright, but it can be a bit harder to get stuff out or shove your hands in them. Lots of well-crafted details on this product. The material is an extremely thin soft-shell like stretch fabric that breathes beautifully and moves with you remarkably well but blocks wind and light rain. The waist is cut fairly low, so don't try pulling these up like you can with more chino-cut pants. Fit is active; if you've got a beer belly, look elsewhere. But if you make the cut, these are incredibly versatile pants that will last a long time."
