The Hovercraft Snowboard by Jones ensures an easy ride through powder without the bulk of many powder-oriented boards. It has a blunt nose and directional rocker for superior float. The tip is rockered for excellent maneuverability, while a slightly rockered tail prevents catching when initiating turns and landing. The tail design also improves power and allows as much stability as a more traditional board shape. Mellow Magne-Traction edges are serrated like knives to ensure a smooth ride and solid grip. They ensure a comfortable ride even when the powder is no longer fresh.

A full wood core gives the Hovercraft excellent snap. The sinistered base absorbs a large amount of wax for a very smooth ride. A film topsheet is lightweight and reduces the amount of plastic needed to manufacture the board. Designed with environmental responsibility in mind, Jones uses ecologically-sound FSC wood for the core. The Flip Flop base coloring also minimizes waste by reducing the amount of materials used to produce the board. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Hovercraft has a moderate flex rating of 7.

  best powder board

REVIEWED BY:    2012-12-07

"this is the 1st powder board I own and ridden. Rode it at Stevens Pass today after a 21 inches of freshies falled in the last 24 hours. It was deep and this board conquers it all. Best powder day on this board by far. The board floats like you surfing. I didn't have to ride on back leg like other boards at all and after all day riding I was one happy rider."
