When you ride in the Pacific Northwest, you never know what kind of weather
you are going to get bombarded by, so whatever you wear has to work no matter
what you encounter. This is where Homeschool comes in. They are fully committed
to functionality, hands down. Their commitment to creating outerwear and apparel
that just works is unparalleled as they focus on durability, breathability and
timeless design. The gear they create is not a costume. It has a job to do,
and failure to live up to the task is not an option. Forged to thrive in the
gnarly conditions of the Pac NW, Homeschool gear works anywhere. The enthusiasts
at Homeschool love snowboarding and they have vowed to never let the weather
stand in their way.
Founder Daniel Clancey may have grown up on the beaches of Hawaii, but moving
to the Pacific Northwest exposed him to some new kinds of weather. His love
for snowboarding took him to the mountain countless days and when you spend
that much time in the snow in this region of the country you experience a wide
range of meteorological attacks. Somewhere between battling freezing fog and
monsoon-like conditions, Clancey realized that there was no adequate snowboard
clothing for handling the variable and wicked conditions of the NW. So, after
a few years of designing outerwear for Colombia, Danny set out on his own to
build a brand of clothing that stayed true to his values. He created Homeschool
with one goal, and that was to make the most superior technical snowboard apparel
in the world.
Pieces like the Homeschool Destroyer Shell Jacket and Homeschool Minesweeper
Shell Jacket headline their collection of coats that was built to dominate in
any conditions. Equally as important as waterproofing, Homeschool has made breathability
one of their main focuses. While other companies have fallen into a pattern
of using Gore-Tex on everything they make, this brand has actually harnessed
a different kind of technology that takes breathability to a whole new level.
Loaded with Cocona Xcelerator Natural Technology, jackets like the Destroyer
and Minesweeper rock unheard of levels of breathability that keeps you dry from
the inside out.
Like all their gear, the Homeschool Lizzy Pant is equipped with the same impressive
Cocona tech and bombproof construction. The beating that the Lizzy Pant and
other models are able to endure is jaw dropping. Season after season of relentless
use in the most unforgiving conditions does nothing to stop these pieces from
straight up working every time. Homeschool menís shirts even highlight
a series of baselayer units that take the same stance on breathability to set
you up for success every time you get out there.
Born in and based out of Portland, Oregon, Homeschool never strays from their
path as they remain true to their goal of making the best technical apparel
the snowboarding world has ever witnessed.
