Holden believes that the one true path to building eco-friendly products is to design gear that will last stylistically and technically for many years of use. By producing snowboarding outerwear that includes a majority of sustainable materials and also advancing the sport through technology and innovation, Holden creates garments that are intended to move you.
As 2002 rolled around, a group of friends became tired of simply talking about a brand of outerwear they could feel good about wearing, and took action. By developing fabrics in-house and taking the fit of clothing seriously, the brand was able to catch a foothold in the market and carve out a place for themselves. In 2006, Holden severed ties with their parent companies and ventured out on their own by moving from Southern California to Portland, Oregon. It was in the shadow of Mt. Hood that they doubled their staff and began distributing their product not only across the country, but around the globe.
Holden’s dedication to engineering eco-friendly materials in their clothing has earned them top honors many times over. They have even gone so far as to make a waterproof, breathable fabric out of recycled plastic bottles and hemp. Never dare to question their commitment. This is all pretty impressive coming from any company, but how about one headed by a professional snowboarder who won Transworld Snowboarding’s Stand-Out of the Year Award? Owned and operated by pro Mikey LeBlanc and designer Scott Zergebel, Holden is constantly in tune with a sport that in continuously evolving.
When it comes to men’s coats like the Field Jacket and the Banks jacket, you know you are getting a classic style and supreme warmth. No amount of extreme weather is going to knock these jackets as they are constructed to hold up against anything winter can conjure. The women’s Bend Jacket and Bessette Jacket are both forces to be reckoned with as they pack all the waterproof/breathable action you can handle while inducing double takes from other riders all the way down the hill.
The Madison Pant and Durden Pant are as tough as they look and prepared to give men the edge they need to tackle the entire mountain. Warmth and dryness are taken to another level in these models, while comfort and flexibility leap into uncharted territories as well. Ladies, feel the fantastic fit of the Holladay Pant and the Standard Pant, but only if you are ready to truly fall in love. Your figure will be flattered and your friends will be jealous every time you slip into a pair of Holden pants for a day of riding like no other.
Holden’s healthy habit of nurturing a sustainable business model has defined them as a leader in the industry. With a record like Holden’s it is impossible not to trust their promise to never cease searching for and inventing new ways to bring a sustainable approach to quality technical outerwear.
