I used Burton mittens for 8 years, until the day I dropped one off of the chairlift on the second run of the day at Meadows. (In my defense - Vicki and Phill both lost poles and gloves on the first run...it was a rough morning).

After spending the day in my liner, I knew it was finally time for an upgrade. As soon as I slipped on the Hestra Fall Line Mitten, I knew I had no choice but to make them mine. I applied the included all-natural leather treatment, let them dry out over night, and was up on the slopes first thing in the morning.

I love these mitts more than I probably should. My hands have never kept so warm and dry on the mountain before! There is no need (or room) for a liner in these, making the on-off process a breeze. The easily adjustable velcro wrist gaiters fit snug to your wrist + slide under your jacket with total ease. They do make my hands a little sweaty on warmer days - so I definitely won't be using these in the spring.

They don't come with wrist straps, so I did have to fashion my own out of accessory cord and a pop lock, since I tend to take my mitts on and off a lot when I'm on the lift. Those hoppy mountain-coffees don't open themselves!
