Exped Synmat 9 Sleeping Pad

The Exped SynMat is filled with a synthetic fiber that makes it warmer and lighter than most other inflatable sleeping mats. This fiber is also less expensive than the down filling in many other mats, making the mat more affordable. With a 6.0 R-value, the Synmat 9 is comfortable throughout all seasons in most climates. Because more heat is lost through the ground than the air while sleeping, using a high quality mat means that a lighter sleeping bag is needed. Other features of the SynMat 9 include two flat air valves for easy inflation and deflation. The design of the valves protects them from damage, because they do not protrude outward from the mat. Durable laminated polyester provides humidity and leak resistance, while a brushed polyester top helps the mat feel comfortable against the skin. The top side of the mat is also slip resistant so a sleeping bag will stay in place on sloped ground. Designed with comfort in mind, the SynMat 9 has welded baffles between the air chambers. These partitions prevent cold spots and provide a stable sleeping surface.
