Background: Tim grew up in Portland and started skiing at the Powderhound Ski School at Mt. Hood at age 10. He moved to Bend after high school and got into freestyle and park skiing at Mt. Bachelor, and backcountry skiing in the surrounding area. Eventually Tim moved back to Portland and started splitting ski time between the more big-mountain technical terrain around Crystal Mountain and the playful terrain at Mt. Hood. Tim has been part of the US Outdoor Store family since 1998 working in the ski and snowboard service and repair, ski, boot & binding sales, and camping & climbing departments.
I finally replaced my 10 year old Burton Gore-Tex® gauntlet gloves with removable liners with the Dakine Rovers. (Side note: Good job Burton on making a glove that lasted so long!). But there are a couple of reasons that I'm really stoked on these new gloves. The wool lining is super comfy, and just as warm and dry as my old gloves. I was able to size down to a medium because the built in liner is less bulky than my old glove with the liner in it. It has Gore-Tex® + Gore Warm. Wrist straps are super handy for throwing off the glove quickly and having it hang from your wrist for fidgeting on the chair or nature breaks, and not having an extra liner makes throwing the glove off and on that much faster. When I need a lighter spring glove I'll use a different glove, but for regular season this is the tool for the job.
