The Lhotse Gore-Tex® Mountaineering Boot from La Sportiva is a tough-as-nails, waterproof, insulated beast of a mountaineering boot. It is made from silicone impregnated Italian Idro-Perwanger Roughout leather. Perwanger has been making superb leather in Italy since 1780; and this particular leather is the most durable leather available. The tanning process creates a leather that is exceptionally water repellant, but breathable. The Lhotse GTX comes with a removable EZ Flex tongue with Dry-Best® lining for customized fit and comfort. For ultra waterproof-brethable insulation, the boot is lined with insulated Gore-Tex®. The Lhotse's structure is reinforced with a 2mm coated full steel shank for rigidity for crampons while a SBR (synthetic butadiene rubber) midsole provides high performance shock-absorption. To finish it up the Lhotse GTX Mountaineering Boot from La Sportiva features an automatic crampon compatibile MPE (Mountaineering Performance Evolution) outsole made by Skywalk.
