Extreme Angles Fat Crack Country
REVIEWED BY: CELANTRO 8/17/2008
"This guidebook is basically a poorly embellished copy of Heel and Toe, a guidebook written by Harper and Kelman, (Heel and Toe Publishing Co., 1994). The organization of the book, as well as many route descriptions, is so similar to "Heel and Toe", it is astonishing. While some new routes are documented, the book is very weak in its coverage of the Blair Areas, as well as areas outside of Central Vedauwoo. There are claims, such as "In the nineties (route) development slowed down and was quite sporadic at best and slow to none near the end of the decade (pg. 31)", that are totally false. It is well documented that considerably over 100 new routes were developed during this time - NOT a slight contribution by any measure. Anyone interested in a current, more thorough and scholarly treatment of climbing at Vedauwoo should turn to "Rock Climbing at Vedauwoo, Wyoming" by R. Kelman (Heel and Toe Publishers, 2004).
